Defeat at the hands of Kingsbury 2 drawing rinks, 1 losing rink

Sun 3rd May

Defeat against local rivals Finchley, losing by 8 shots in the Ernie Ceaser rose bowl.

Sat 9th May

Decisive victory at home against Muswell Hill 3 winning triples.

Sun 17th May

First Middlesex league game at home against Bishopswood with a good victory 8 points to 2.

Sat 23rd May

Bob Bentley trophy match versus Barnet. A poor result for the club losing the trophy for the second year running. The club lost on all three rinks losing the game 61-40.

Sun 24th May

second Middlesex league game away at Grovelands. An excellent win for the club, scoring 81 shots to 39, winning on all three rinks and taking all 10 points.

Fri 29th May

West Finchley crash out of the Middlesex double rink at the first hurdle. The game had started well, with both home and away rinks winning by a few shots, it looked in the bag at 19 ends with the away side up by 7 and the home side drawing, but disaster struck on the 20th end at home and away as the away side dropped a four and the home side dropped a five. At the end the away team won by two but the home team lost by four, next year we hope for a better result.

Sat 30th May

Away game against North London, defeat on all rinks away from home, not a good day for West Finchley but great company.

Sat 6th June

Another away fixture against Kingsbury this time, Kingsbury complete the home and away double over West Finchley, Kingsbury won on two rinks, but the captains rink gained a little bit of pride winning on the last end.

Sun 7th June

Our third Middlesex league game, away to Poplar. Each year this is the fixture that nearly always decides our section of the Middlesex league, both teams were missing key players and West Finchley got off to a good start taking the lead on all three rinks. Poplar came back strong and it was tight all the way through to the end. Poplar had one winning rink, West Finchley had one winning rink and the other was a draw, but Poplar won the game overall, and picked up 7 points to West Finchleys 3 .

Tuesday 9th June

Prentice Cup

First game in the prentice cup league . The home team skippered by John Murphy won 19-11, while the away team skippered by Andy Docker lost.       15-13. A good start to the campaign against possibly the strongest team in our group Bishopswood.

Sunday 14th June

Away game against Oakhill, playing in the Bertie Joel trophy and also for the Westoak cup. A good game for West Finchley, winning on two rinks drawing on one and losing on the final rink on the last end. Overall a 4 1/2 to 1 1/2 win in the Bertie Joel and 6 shot advantage to take into the home leg of the West Oak Cup.
