Middlesex League

The Middlesex league has changed slightly this year with some new teams coming in and also the loss of a few teams! The players at West Finchley are looking forward to a competitive and fun fixture list in this event!

GAME 1.West Finchley played local rivals Finchley in there first Middlesex league game this year, after a fairly even start Finchley nudged ahead, then there ws a break for tea, and after the tea break Finchley went on to win the fixture, winning 8 points to 2. This was a disappointing start to the league as West Finchley only lost by 12 overall!

GAME 2.  West Finchley hosted Selbourne in the second game, still smarting from the loss to Finchley the previous week the West Finchley lads rose to the occasion, a very good win taking all points, and winning by 25 shots overall the highest winning rink going to the Ian Frankland and his team!

GAME3. West Finchley travelled in their third game, a tough fixture against Poplar, another little club but a very strong club! West Finchley were looking for as many points as they could get, unfortunatly the Poplar team were very strong winning on one rink by 26 shots, the game was beyond West Finchley to win but pride was still at stake and the rink led by club president Allister Frankland did manage to get a win and 2 points for the club.

GAME4 Game 4 found West Finchley hosting again, this time against new boys to the league Bishopswood.  It was a good start from West Finchley but Bishopswood are also a strong club and the second half was a poor performance from West Finchley who ended up losing on every rink, a very bad day at the office! With only two or three games left it looks like West Finchley wont be top of the league but now playing for pride!
